The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in America, and one of the most watched across the world. This year’s Super Bowl was no different, having the highest average viewership of all time – 114.4 million world wide. But its not all about watching the game these days, people love to get involved, especially on social media. Twitter recorded a record breaking 28.4 million tweets about the Super Bowl during the game, putting it up there with the World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina which recorded 32.1 million.

One of the highlights for me though, and most of the American public who watched the game live, is the video adverts. Its not surprising that marketing executives have a separate budget for their Super Bowl advert, with the majority of spending going on simply placing the video advert in highly competitive slots. To place a 30 second advert during the game cost a whopping $4.5m, but that didn’t seem to put anyone off because NBC sold out all their ad spaces to large corporations such as Nationwide, Budweiser and BMW.

Unfortunately those of us who stayed up late to watch the game from the UK couldn’t watch the US adverts live as we have our own ad breaks during the UK coverage of the Super Bowl. However, more and more brands are choosing to release their adverts before the game, prolonging their chance of getting seen and basically getting the most out of what they paid for.

Here’s a few of my personal favourite video adverts from this years Super Bowl:

Bud Light Super Bowl 2015 Commercial – Real Life PacMan #UpForWhatever – 16,184,528 views

Invisible Mindy Kaling Nationwide Super Bowl XLIX Commercial – 1,283,845 views

2015 Budweiser Super Bowl Commercial “Lost Dog” | Budweiser #BestBuds – 24,894,179
