Since the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow many businesses have been issuing long statements with their pledge to go Net-Zero but how can you simplify and remove the climate jargon to help get the message across to your audience. Here are some tips on how to simplify the idea of your business going Net-Zero through video.

Tips to simplify the idea of your business going Net Zero

1. Use easy to understand words

There is nothing worse than watching a video where you don’t understand the language being used. Keep it easy to understand and remember the everyday person may not have an in-depth knowledge of the global climate crisis.

2. Keep it short

A short video is 10x more effective than a long one. Keep it concise and only say the things that are really important and bring something to the person watching. Keeping it to no longer than 2 and half minutes means that people are less likely to click off and it will be effective on your sites.

3. Write a script

A script is the best way of ensuring that you get everything you want in the video.

4. Take time into thinking about where the video is going to be hosted

Where your video ends up is key. This could be on LinkedIn, your social media channels, YouTube, your website, anywhere really. To get your Net-Zero message across you need to look at your audience and engagement statistics to see where it’s most likely your TA (Target audience) are going to view it.

5. Call to action is key

A call to action is telling your audience after they have watched the video to do something. This could be how they can get involved, how they can help you meet Net zero, it could be telling them to visit your website or even to give you a call.
