Apple’s much debated video editing software Final Cut Pro X (FCPX) is 2 years old today.

To celebrate, plug-in creators CrumplePop have written a great blog post about how FCP has changed their business over the past 2 years.

“Today, just two short years after FCPX shipped, there is an entire plugin ecosystem around FCPX. This is to the enormous benefit of editors, and we are proud to have played a role in it”, Gabe Cheifetz writes.

Although CrumplePop have benefited from FCPX , the comments on the blog post show that the software is still at the heart of industry debate, as many have struggled with the program.

Despite what some people might say, FCPX is becoming more and more popular with a variety of video editors. Cheifetz describes FCPX users as “a diverse group of editors who are difficult to make generalizations about.”

We’ve been using FCPX at Holler since December 2012, and have found it to be a great tool for a fast and creative editing process. It allows us to get our corporate videos out to our clients fast, and the vast range of plug-ins means we can create different styles smoothly.

Just take a look at our portfolio for some examples of work edited with FCPX!
